How thick the laser cutting machine can cut the material?

Different power levels of fiber laser cutting machines can cut materials with different thicknesses.

Generally, low-power laser cutting machines can cut thin materials, such as metal plates up to 6 mm thick and non-metallic materials such as wood or acrylic up to about 20 mm thick.

Medium-power laser cutting machines can cut medium-thick materials, such as metal plates up to 12 mm thick and non-metallic materials such as wood or acrylic up to about 30 mm thick.

High-power laser cutting machines can cut thick materials, such as metal plates up to 25 mm thick and non-metallic materials such as wood or acrylic up to 40 mm thick or more.

However, it should be noted that laser cutting machines can cut larger material thicknesses with enough laser power and the proper lens, but this depends on the equipment’s manufacturing and related safety requirements.
